Melampodium / Butter Daisy

Melampodium, commonly known as butter daisy, is a low-maintenance, heat-tolerant summer annual from the Aster family that thrives in full sun. It produces profuse, 1-2 inch wide, daisy-like yellow flowers with dark centers on bushy, 1-2 foot tall plants from spring until the first frost. The foliage is bright green, opposite, and slightly fuzzy.

Light: Thrives in full sun, requiring at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best, most compact growth.

Soil: Prefers well-drained soil, though it is quite adaptable and can handle poor, rocky soils.

Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, but do not allow it to become waterlogged. It is moderately drought-tolerant once established.
