Aromatic Ginger Plant / Pokok Cekur Makan / Kaempferia Galanga / 沙姜苗 山姜 沙姜 / Sand Ginger

Aromatic ginger (Kaempferia galanga), also known as kencur, sand ginger, or resurrection lily, is a small, stemless perennial herb belonging to the ginger family (Zingiberaceae).

Light: Provide partial shade or about 6 hours of filtered, indirect sunlight daily. Direct, harsh midday sun can scorch the leaves.

Soil: Use a loose, fertile, loamy, or sandy soil that is rich in organic matter.

Moisture: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Soggy soil quickly leads to rhizome and root rot.

Frequency: Water roughly 2 to 3 times per week during drier or active growing periods, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out slightly in between. Reduce watering significantly if the plant enters a dormant phase.
