Asters thrive in full sun, well-drained loamy soil, and cool, moist conditions. Key care includes regular watering to keep soil moist but not soggy, spacing plants 1–3 feet apart for airflow, and pinching top shoots in early summer for fuller blooms. Deadhead faded flowers and cut back hard in late autumn.
Light: Provide full sun (6+ hours) for the best blooms. Partial shade is acceptable in hot, dry climates.
Soil & Water: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Water deeply when the topsoil is dry rather than frequent shallow watering, especially for potted asters.
