It employs food-grade, non-hemolytic and harmless Bacillus subtilis spores as the main organic matter decomposition material. These spores have the ability to liquefy gelatin, hydrolyze casein, and hydrolyze starch enzymes (a-Amy). They produce hydrogen sulfide (H2S), are negative for urease, hemolysin, and monosaccharide reactions, but positive for fermentation-type acid production in sugar metabolism.
