Euphorbia Lactea F.Cristata / Coral Cactus 珊瑚仙人掌

Euphorbia lactea f. cristata, commonly known as the coral cactus, is a striking succulent featuring wavy, fan-shaped crested branches that look like marine coral.

Light Requirements

Indoors: Place your plant near an east- or west-facing window with bright, indirect light.

Outdoors: Provide partial shade. Avoid harsh, direct afternoon sun, which can scorch or bleach the delicate crested folds.

Rotation: Rotate the pot weekly so all sides get equal light and the plant grows evenly.

Watering

Soak and Dry: Water deeply directly into the soil until water runs out of the drainage holes. Let the soil dry completely before watering again.

Avoid the Crest: Never pour water directly onto the ruffled top crest. Moisture trapped in the folds easily causes fungal rot.

Winter Rest: Reduce watering significantly during the cooler winter months when the plant goes dormant.

Soil and Potting

Soil Mix: Use a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix. Mix in perlite, pumice, or coarse sand to improve drainage.

Pot Selection: Always use a pot with a bottom drainage hole. Terracotta pots work best because they help the soil dry out faster.
