Kalanchoe is a popular plant during Chinese New Year celebration. This plant is known to the Chinese as “thousands and millions of red and purple” and it is said to bring wealth and prosperity. The genus name is derived from the Chinese “Kalan Chau”, which means “that which falls and grows”.

Water it when the soil feels dry, but try not to wet the leaves. Keep in mind to allow some time between waterings. The clusters of bright blooms do best in bright, natural light. Avoid putting your kalanchoe under direct sunlight to avoid scorching it.
