Murraya Paniculata 九里香
Murraya paniculata (orange jessamine) is a popular evergreen tropical shrub or small tree known for its highly fragrant white flowers and glossy green, pinnate leaves. Growing 2.5–8m tall, it features small, glossy, dark green leaflets and produces bright red-orange berries, making it ideal for hedges and landscaping.
Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade; at least 4–6 hours of direct sun daily is ideal for, optimal flowering.
Watering: Water thoroughly but avoid waterlogged soil. In summer, this may be as often as every 3-4 days, while in winter, reduce watering to every 10-14 days.
Common Uses:
Landscaping: Popular as a privacy hedge, screen, or specimen shrub.
Bonsai: Frequently used in bonsai cultivation.
Traditional Medicine: Used in some cultures to treat pain, diarrhea, and infections.
