Toona sinensis, known as Chinese Toon or Chinese Mahogany, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree from Asia, famous for its edible young shoots and leaves which taste savory, oniony, or garlicky. Valued in traditional Chinese medicine and cuisine, its reddish new growth, timber, and medicinal properties (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory) make it an ornamental, food, and timber resource, growing up to 40m tall but often kept smaller by harvesting.

Sunlight: Full sun to light, dappled shade; more sun helps with flowering.

Soil: Prefers moist, well-drained, fertile, loamy soil, adaptable to various pH levels.
