Vallaris glabra (commonly known as the Bread Flower or Kesidang) is a tropical, evergreen woody vine native to Southeast Asia. It is highly prized for its heavily fragrant, cup-shaped white flowers, which release an intense aroma similar to a mix of pandan leaves and freshly baked, toasted rice.
Sunlight: Requires at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily to encourage abundant flowering. It can tolerate partial shade, but too little light will reduce blooms.
Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist. Water deeply during dry or hot periods, but let the top inch of soil dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
Soil & Fertilizer: Prefers well-draining, fertile, loamy soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Apply a balanced, organic fertilizer during the active growing season to boost plant health and flower production.
